What is a domain name?
What is a domain name? A domain name is a name that identifies one or more IP Addresses. An IP address is a numeric code that signifies where to look on the internet for content. An example would be 200.127.243.Instead of typing a long and hard to remember IP address, domain names help to remember the same IP address by typing an easily remembered name to access to the same site as if we put the IP. For example the site google.com points to 72.14.207.99. So if u type 72.14.207.99 it would be the same than typing google.com but google.com is easier to remember. Email directions also use domain names, for example if your email is name@yahoo.com the domain is yahoo.com Each domain name has a suffix that indicates which TLD (top level domain name) it belongs to, it is also named domain extension.
